| When the High Kings came together in guitarist Chris Koch's grandmother
Meme's basement in the winter of 96, their intentions ventured no further than pulling
together a summer project to play aboard Cape Cod's Hy-Line cruise ship for the upcoming
summer. A couple of covers, sunset cruises, sure they could pull it together for a few
bucks. Much to their delight, the High Kings quickly metamorphosed into a band that was
recently named one of Cape Cod's best bands, and chosen as a runner up in Musician
magazines annual Best Unsigned Band contest. |

| Since that winter in Meme's basement, where they incidentally still meet
for practice, the band has graced stages from Martha's Vineyard to Boston; Burlington,
Vermont to the Florida Keys. Their original and innovative sound draws its influence from
rhythm and blues, funk, rock and roll, ska, country, and pop. This unique style has
attracted radio airplay and label interests. |
| The combined experience of these four guys is equally impressive. With a
collective thirty years musical experience between them, the High Kings have blossomed
into a tight, innovative and prolific group. They exhibit comfort, confidence, and an
engaging presence both on stage and in a studio environment. In addition, their live shows
tastily combine powerful rock and roll songs with funky grooves, strong vocal harmonies
and creative chord changes. |
| Listen and decide for yourself; and while we're on the subject of the
music, the High Kings offer an array of recordings and products for sale. They'd love to
hear from you by mail at 414 Phinneys Lane, Centerville, MA 02632, by E-mail at highkings@capecod.net, or by phone anytime at
508-778-6295. |
